Earls Kitchen + Bar

The popular Canadian restaurant chain Earls Kitchen + Bar opened a massive new location in Waikiki. The restaurant sits where Atlantis Seafood & Steak and California Pizza Kitchen once operated, taking over both former spaces into an elegantly designed lifestyle space. With 323 seats, it’s now one of Waikiki’s largest dining venues.

Along with customer favorites from Canada, the Waikiki location features exclusive Hawaii dishes, including some fresh seafood platters and a few vegan-friendly options, making this location a great spot for everyone.

Botanico Waikiki

The Zetton Group—known for Aloha Table, Heavenly, and Zigu—opened Botanico Waikiki on the first floor of Waikiki Shopping Plaza.

The restaurant blends Italian cuisine with Mediterranean and island influences, creating fresh, expressive dishes suited for any occasion—from casual lunches to special dinners.  Lunch service recently started with happy hour specials on the way.

Canterbury Kitchen Cove

A new dining complex, Canterbury Kitchen Cove, officially opened along Ala Moana Blvd. Located across from Hilton Hawaiian Village, this 20,000 sq-ft space features over 100 seats and six different dining concepts:

  • Han Sushi – all-you-can-eat sushi
  • Kayak Café – breakfast through dinner
  • Pizza Pie – handmade pizza & pasta
  • Avivi Korean Grill – Korean ramen & BBQ
  • Chicken University – fried chicken
  • Gelato & Chill – authentic gelato

Specials during opening week included $10 pizzas, $5 ramen, $3 beer, gelato discounts, free parking, and gift card giveaways.  A private dining room offers a perfect party venue with customizable menus pulling from each of the outlets.

Hawaiian Style Seafood Company

A new must-try seafood spot opened on Kalākaua Avenue inside Waikiki Shopping Plaza. Hawaiian Style Seafood Company is the latest eatery produced by Chef Jon Matsubara, also of the popular Manoa eatery Feast, which is known for its lobster rolls that went viral during the pandemic.

Also available at Hawaiian Style Seafood Company, the signature Hawaiian-style lobster roll features Maine lobster dressed in lemon butter and “umami mayo” made with bonito and shoyu, topped with dill and served on King’s Hawaiian sweet bread.  Chef Jon Matsubara aims to highlight local fishermen and farmers through a distinctly Hawaiian twist, featuring a variety of poke bowls and seafood-centric plates.

(Relocation) The Pig and the Lady

The beloved Vietnamese restaurant The Pig and the Lady relocated from Downtown Honolulu to Kaimuki, right next to Goodwill on Waialae Avenue.

Favorites include the Pho 75 ($20.00) and Hainan Chicken ($23.00).  The pho includes an add-on oxtail option for an extra $12.  

Despite it having just reopened a few weeks ago, the restaurant is already packed with adoring local fans.  Enjoy award-nominated Southeast Asian cuisine crafted with Hawaii-sourced ingredients at their new home.

Ochos 888

A brand-new Mexican restaurant, Ochos 888, has opened on Kapahulu Ave near the famous Leonard’s Bakery.

The menu blends Mexican and Peruvian flavors, with the house-favorite ceviche topping the list.The ceviche features fresh fish, sweet potato, corn, and your choice of spice level: mild, medium, or spicy. You can also enjoy tacos, burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, and other Mexican staples.

(Relocation) Chogajip

Popular Korean restaurant Chogajip reopened after moving from Keeaumoku St. to Kapiolani Blvd, directly across from the Hawai‘i Convention Center.

The new location offers a spacious dining area, on-site parking, and extremely long hours—from 8:00 AM to 4:00 AM, perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or late-night Korean eats.

Paris Baguette

The Korean bakery chain Paris Baguette opened its second Honolulu location, inside the Renaissance Honolulu Hotel near Ala Moana. The shop opens daily from 6:00 AM, making it ideal for early risers.

Expect pastries like strawberry lemon cream croissants, tiramisu tarts, mochi donuts, and Dubai chocolate tarts.  Paris Baguette now operates over 4,000 stores worldwide.

Zucchi Pizza

Zucchi Pizza opened a new location at Kewalo Basin in Kakaʻako.  The authentic Neapolitan pizzas baked at 450°C are ready to eat in just 90 seconds, infusing the aromatics of kiawe wood giving it a distinctly Hawaiian flavor.

The dough is made from Italian “00” flour and fermented 24–48 hours.  The sauce incorporates San Marzano tomatoes, with fresh fior di latte as the cheese.  On Fridays, you can even enjoy views of Hilton Hawaiian Village’s fireworks across the water.  This eatery is only open for dinner Thursday–Sunday.

E Chicken

Near Whole Foods in Ward, the Korean fried chicken shop E Chicken opened its newest location.  Known for ultra-crispy Korean-style fried chicken, the “K-POP Chicken,” tenders, and wings are especially popular.
